BarCan is developing new Barite products to target international export markets, including the paper and paint additive market, including automobile paint. In this market, Barite powder can be added to paper and paint formulas to strengthen and improve the whiteness of the product, increase coverage, add sound-deadening properties, and be a weighted filler for paper, rubber, and cloth.

Paint brightened with white Barite powder is a non-toxic alternative to products containing titanium, now determined to be carcinogenic.

Highly-specialized independent engineering and metallurgical teams confirm that BarCan’s mineral resource is well-suited to these new and value-add product forms. An aggressive 2020-2021 development plan is underway to ensure BarCan meets the unique requirements of these large international markets.
